5 Designer Tips for Your Roll Up Banner Stand

Roll up banner stands or pull up banners, as they are also known, are a great way to make you stand out at any trade show or exhibition. If your store is having a new promotion or sale, they can also be the perfect way to draw some attention. You want your banner to have a strong impact on anyone passing by, and to do so you will have to come up with an effective design. Here are a few tips to make sure your banner’s design will be impossible to ignore:

If you have a logo, put it at the top

Your company logo or slogan will have taken you a while to design, so put it at the top where everyone can see it first. People read from top to bottom, so with your logo right at the top they will straight away recognise the banner belongs to your company.

Left to right

People are used to reading from left to right and from top to bottom. Keep this in mind when you fill your banner with information. Remember that the purpose of your banner is to draw people’s attention; so you don’t have to provide an abundance of information because that can come later. Only include relevant information and leave out anything unnecessary.

Images

If you decide to use any images on your banner make sure they are of the highest quality possible, this is especially important if the image is of your products. If you aren’t able to take a photo yourself then look on online for some stock images to suit your banner, royalty free images will be best as it will save you some money.

Colour

Colour is key. It’s important to use colour as a way to make your banner stand out, but although you want to stand out you still need to make sure it keeps in with the style of your company logo. Too much clashing of colours can be off-putting and ruin the design of a banner. The use of effective colours can also be the perfect way to make images and text become more attractive on the eye.

Contact

So you’ve designed a great looking banner stand, the colours are perfect and you’ve included just enough information to make it easy to read. Oh, but you forgot to include any contact details. If a passer by is drawn in by your banner and likes what they are reading, but have no way of getting hold of you the chances are they will give it a miss. Make sure you include your contact details or at least a call to action, so they have a way of getting more information about your company and the product or services you provide.

A roll up banner stand can be one of the most effective ways of getting the attention of people passing by, whether it’s at your store or at an event. A well-designed banner can draw someone in, and give them the perfect amount of information to make them want to know more.
